What's Nelly you ask?
Woah Nelly is an external turbo I have designed for 1/2x scale RC cars. This includes Mini-Z (All models), iWavers (All models) and XMODS.
Nelly came about because I was became sick and tired of frying my MOSFET stacks in my mini-z madforce truck and other racers. I also wanted to get the greatest performance possible from the electronics in the various vendor cars. The stock electronics just doesn't cut it in terms of performance.
Also, and this is a major design point for the Woah Nelly Turbo. I wanted to make the turbo as efficient as possible so even with no motor change (ie: no hot motor installed) you would still see a performance increase and have this external unit actually act as a "turbo" so to speak....
I've tested a couple of external turbos like the GPM v2 and TLP Twin turbo and they have no where near the performance of the Nelly turbo. Also, the Woah Nelly turbo will retain the brake function of your car. Something the other external turbo vendors don't do.
So, enough of the boring text, here's some pictures and info of the various models of the Woah Nelly turbo I make.
Nelly EVO
Nelly EVO is my new external turbo for XMODS EVO cars and Trucks. Due to some new design changes with the electronics in the EVO I can now take advantage of that and make a simpler and smaller design. Basically if you want the best performance, you want the Nelly EVO turbo. Nelly EVO is based on my older design, Nelly v1.2. I have changed the layout on the Nelly PCB to make it even smaller and introduced an extra de-coupling capacitor across the motor outputs to ensure noise free operation.
Nelly Deluxe
Nelly Deluxe is all about pushing 1:28 RC performance to the edge. Using the performance of MOSFET driver technology that was first implemented in Nelly v1.3 I have built upon that to achieve an exceptionally efficient design that will run that extra "hot" motor without blowing it's cool. Nelly Deluxe also includes a 5V regulator circuit that allows your original 1:28 receiver unit to stay running at a stable 5V, even when you're running a crazy setup like 3 li-polys!

Woah Nelly v1.3
Now this version is where it's at! v1.3 is for the serious racer and includes special MOSFET driver technology which improves the performance greatly. In fact, the more cells you run on you car (be it 4 - 6 cells or 2 li-ion/li-poly cells) the more efficient Nelly is! This version of Nelly is wider than v1.2 due to the extra circuitry required. The dimensions come in at (approx) 2cm long by 3cm wide, not including power/signal cables and motor terminal. Nelly v1.3 offers greater performance than a 24x2 stack of IRF7389 MOSFETS and also a 2x8 stack of Si4562 MOSFETS.
Woah Nelly v1.2
Nelly v1.2 offers a few upgrades to the v1.1 model. First of all it uses even higher performing MOSFETS than the v1.1 model. It is also the smallest turbo I produce, coming in at under 2cm square, not including power/signal cables and motor terminal. Nelly v1.2 offers greater performance than a 15x2 stack of IRF7389 MOSFETs.
Woah Nelly v1.1
This was the first public release version of my Nelly turbo. It's a great unit that offers a healthy amount of performance over the stock electronics. It measures approx 3cm square, not including power/signal cables and motor terminal. Nelly v1.1 offers greater performance than a 10x2 stack of IRF7389 MOSFETs.
