To build this motor you need to following parts:

You can buy both of these from www.rcmart.com

Here's another shot of the Plasma Dash, notice the motor can design is lot like larger scale motors....

Looking at the ATOMIC can you will notice that it's of the same "open bell end" type design...

We're using the ATOMIC motor can for the following reasons:

The first thing we want to do is to remove the brushes from the ATOMIC motor can.  We need to do this to test the armature in the can.  Remove them using a screwdriver as shown below:

Now, locate the bearing in the ATOMIC end bell.

You want to remove the bearing.  Just push it through from the other end using a screwdriver that's slightly bigger than it's inner hole.

What we want to do here is gouge out a small amount of plastic (1mm-2mm, depending on what's required) using a flat blade screwdriver or a drill bit the same size as the bearing.  Slowly work the drill until you've cleared out some of the plastic.   DON'T DRILL THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH!!!!

This is Stage 1 complete.  What we've done is prepare the ATOMIC case to accept the Plasma Dash armature.  The next step now is to pull apart the Plasma Dash motor and grab the armature and magnets from it.
