To build this motor you need the following parts:
You can get the Tamiya Ultra Dash motor from various Ebay retailers for around $6.50USD. You can get the Xtra Speed motor can from www.rcmart.com under the motors section in the Mini-Z part of the site.
You can also use the Squat Modified Motor Can 130R with Bearings, Magnets and Carbon Brushes from the www.mini-zracer.com shop. See here.
There's a few differences between these two motor cans. The main thing is that the Squat bb can does NOT come with neo magnets. The Xtra Speed can does come with neo magnets. Also the Squat can does not have the two alternate mounting holes at the front for mounting on PN Racing and ATOMIC modified alloy motor mounts.
The Squat can is cheaper to buy given that it's (for people in the USA) a local reseller. The Xtra Speed can will cost a bit more for shipping from Hong Kong.
So if you already have a set of neo magnets and don't need the alternate mounting holes, then go with the Squat can. For the purpose of this tutorial (and my personal preference) I will be using the Xtra Speed motor can.
